Professor Irem Dikmen is a Professor of Construction Engineering and Management and the School Director of Internationalisation at the University of Reading. Her research focuses on project risk management, climate resilience in the built environment, digital technologies and AI, and mega-project delivery. She has supervised numerous postgraduate projects on AI, IoT, NLP, dispute prediction, and energy performance modelling. Professor Dikmen’s work integrates systems thinking and digital tools to improve decision-making in complex construction projects. She holds a PhD, MSc, and BSc in Civil Engineering from Middle East Technical University.

Professor Albert P. C. Chan is a Distinguished Research Professor at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and one of the world’s leading scholars in construction engineering and management. He previously served as PolyU’s Dean of Students, Head of the Department of Building and Real Estate, and Chair Professor of Construction Engineering and Management. His research spans project management, procurement, PPPs, and construction health and safety, with an outstanding record of over 1,000 scholarly publications. A globally recognized academic leader, Professor Chan has served on major international review panels, including those of the Hong Kong Research Grants Council, FORMAS (Sweden), and TU Delft. Since 2020, he has consistently ranked among the world’s top 2% scientists (Stanford University). In recognition of his impactful contributions to construction policy and talent development, he was awarded the Medal of Honour (M.H.) by the Hong Kong SAR Government in 2024.
